The Magic Theatre was founded in 1967 by a group of University of California, Berkeley graduate students headed by John Lion.
Performing at various San Francisco Bay Area locations and on tour, the company began by producing works of European playwrights
and has become one of the Bay Area's leading producers of new plays. The company currently makes its home at Fort Mason in
San Francisco, California.
