Mary Freeman was born in Woodland, California in the 1870s and graduated from Stanford University in 1896. She was a member
of the Cap and Bells Club and served as their president from 1922-1924. In 1902 she married Edward M. Armstrong, who was murdered
in 1904. In 1908 she married John Hammond Crabbe.
