Marion De Vries (1865-1939) was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives from the Stockton, Calif. area and served from 1897 Mar. 4 to 1900 Aug. 20. He resigned to accept appointment to the Board of General Appraisers, later called the U.S. Customs Court, where he served until 1910, when he became associate judge, and later, presiding judge of the U.S. Court of Customs Appeals. He resigned on 1922 Oct. 22, and returned to private legal practice.
