Abstract:

Recollections of her father, William Matson, and his shipping company; marriage to William Roth; her family; acquisition of Filoli, their home in Woodside; interest in horse breeding and horse shows; volunteer activities.
Appended: copy of her daughter's speech to docents in training at Filoli and copies of articles and clippings supporting the interview.
Included also: photocopy of tape-recorded interview with Toichi Domoto of Domoto Brothers Nursery which supplied plants for Filoli.
With this: additional documentary material, including handbook for Filoli docents giving tours.
