Manuel Núñez de Arenas (1886-1951) was a Spanish intellectual and historian. He became a member of the Spanish Socialist Workers Party in 1909, founded the New School in 1910, and helped found the Spanish Communist Workers Party in 1921. He was exiled to France between 1923 and 1930 and again after the Spanish Civil War ended in 1939. He was imprisoned by the Nazis between 1942 and 1944.
