Mathews and Bradney
Abstract:
Two 19th century photo albums, and 55 portrait photographs (carte-de-viste & tintype probably from the 1860s) that were formerly
in the albums and are mostly unidentified. The subjects of the photos are descendants of the donors. Many have the photographer's
imprint on the reverse, from the California cities of Red Bluff, Marysville, Nevada City, Chico, Colusa, and Woodland, and
St. Louis, Missouri. The larger album contains 14 photos, some from the 19th century but mostly from the mid-20th century.
The smaller album was manufactured by William W. Harding of Philadelphia.
