Abstract:
Album contains 200 black and white snapshots taken by a British soldier of the 2nd Essex Regiment, stationed in the Northwest
Frontier Province of British India (now Pakistan). Images include scenic views; portraits of fellow soldiers, local peoples,
Indian and Afghan police; forts, churches and city scenes; the Taj Mahal. Photos taken in many locations in India and present-day
Pakistan including Cherat, Peshawar, Landi Kotal, Calcutta, Murree. A few images also of Khartoum and Port Sudan (Sudan).
