Abstract:
Four holograph letters written and signed by Fletcher Webster. The first letter, dated April 8th, 1841 and signed by F. Webster,
Chief Clerk, State Department, is to P. R. Fendall, Esq. to request that he informs Webster of any progress made with the
laws of the last Session of Congress since inquiries have been made about when they will be printed and it is desirable that
they be distributed as soon as possible. The second letter, dated April 28, 1841 from Washington, [D. C.], is to George W.
Gordon, Esq., Postmaster of Boston, about Gordon's commission being mailed and as "Acting Secretary", Webster has the pleasure
of signing it. The letter ends by asking Gordon to tell a mutual friend to write him and addressing Gordon as Mr. Posmaster.
The third letter, dated February 1, 1854 from Boston, [Massachusetts], is to Joseph S. Beal, Esq. to ask whether they must
take the oath in order to sell real estate before any magistrate out of Plymouth County or must it be one in Plymouth County.
The fourth letter, dated April 17, 1856 from Boston, [Massachusetts] and addressed to W. E. Parkhurst, Esq., states that in
response to Parkhurst's request, Webster has enclosed an autograph of his late father [Daniel Webster].
