Abstract:

Certificate of nativity for Yip See, dated Oct. 2, 1897, includes portrait. Affidavits, with portraits, for identity and nativity for Chuey Hamilton, a son, to facilitate his re-entry into the U.S. following a trip to China, signed by R.L. Carter, A.C. Meckel, Mary O'Neil, and other Weaverville residents on April 5, 1912.

Yip See was born in San Francisco in 1865, and married ca. 1880 in Weaverville to Che Sing, commonly known as Jo Hamilton, a merchant, until his death on May 28, 1897. Mother of Gim Sun, Sooey Hang, Jung Hoe, Sooey Yee, Sooey Gung, and Sooey Len. Departed from San Francisco on the steamer, China, Oct. 21, 1897.
