Note:

Henry Winslow Corbett (February 18, 1827 - March 31, 1903) was an American businessman, politician, civic benefactor, and philanthropist in the state of Oregon. A native of Massachusetts, he spent his early life in the East and in New York before moving to the Oregon Territory. He was a prominent figure in the early development of Portland, Oregon, and was involved in numerous business ventures there. Corbett became proprietor of the Oregon Stage Company in 1865, which he operated until about 1869. Corbett served as a United States Senator from 1867 to 1873.
An 1853 consolidation of stage lines in California became the California Stage Company, which secured a contract for daily overland mail from San Francisco to Portland in 1860. The same year through trips from Portland to Sacramento were accomplished via a connection with the Oregon Stage Company at Corvallis. By 1866 this operation was at least occasionally known as the California and Oregon United Stages Mail Line, reorganized in 1870 as the California and Oregon Coast Overland Mail Company.
