Abstract:
Printed broadside from Office A. R. Q. M. [Acting Regimental Quartermaster] 49th Missouri Infantry Volunteers, Eufaula, Alabama,
dated October 5th, 1865, states that in compliance with Special Orders, dated Head-Quarters, Sub. District of Montgomery,
October 11, 1865, all horses, mules, and cattle branded with letters U. S. or C. S. and all U. S. saddles, bridles, ordnance,
and ordnance stores at or near Eufaula will be immediately reported and turned over to 2nd Lieutenant John J. Spencer, A.
R. Q. M. 49th Missouri Infantry Volunteers at Eufaula, Alabama. The order is by command of and signed by John J. Spencer,
and includes the names of Col. John Lynch, Harvy [Harvey] Wright, Lieutenant and A. A. A. [Acting Assistant Adjutant] General.
