In 1945, they merged with the National Socialist Party of China (NSPC), which changed their name to the Democratic Socialist Party of China, but in 1947, broke from them and resumed their previous name. CDCP then joined with Free China Political Organization (FCPO) from 1954 to 1955, but again broke away and resumed their previous name.
