Abstract:

Helen Hyde was raised in San Francisco, then lived in France, Germany and Japan. She spent 15 years in Tokyo mastering traditional Japanese brush painting and woodcuts. She died in Pasadena, California. This is a small collection of colored woodcuts by her. Most depict everyday life in Japan at the beginning of the 20th century
