Abstract:

Small diary written by an unknown serviceman from Bakersfield, CA who was apparently involved or acquainted with the U. S. Army's 54th Battalion, but at the time of this diary was a U. S. Navy Machinist's Mate. He maintained PT boats and LSTs first in Tunisia and then at Naples. He witnessed survivors of sinkings and battles, and also deaths by accident. He transferred back to California in 1945 but at the time this diary ends had not yet been discharged.
