Cyrus K. Daugherty was born in Maine in 1826 and sailed to California in 1849. He settled in Sacramento and entered the grocery
business in the partnership of Gilbert, Daugherty & Howlett, and later as Daugherty & Company. Daugherty died in Sacramento
in 1903.
