Note:

SS West Grama was built in 1918 by the Los Angeles Shipbuilding & Dry Dock Company of San Pedro, California as part of the "West" class of steel-hulled cargo steamships. These vessels were constructed for the United States Shipping Board as part of the World War I effort. West Grama was commissioned in January 1919 into the Naval Overseas Transportation Service of the United States Navy as USS West Grama, and later that year became the first vessel under the American Flag to enter Bulgarian waters while delivering a load of wheat flour to Varna. USS West Grama reentered civilian service in June 1919, was rebuilt with a diesel engine in 1927, and was scuttled in 1944 as part of the "gooseberry" breakwater off Omaha Beach during the Normandy Invasion.
