Abstract:
Materials relating to environmental and conservation issues, gathered by Charles Batten while director of communications for
the California Forest Protective Association. Concerns controversies surrounding Redwood National Park, the Sierra Club, land
use regulations and the Forest Practice Act, and aerial spraying of phenoxy herbicides on forest lands. Contains reports,
clippings, brochures, and other published material, with some correspondence and texts of a few speeches and interviews by
C.R. Batten on the herbicide 2,4, 5-T.
Also contains copies of the Association's newsletters, 1974-1980; news releases and mailings to members, 1974-1978; and, legislative
reports, 1975-1978.
