Scope and content:

The collection consists largely of member newsletters, meeting minutes, brochures, and press releases written by the Sozialistisches Büro (Socialist Office). Also included are year-end summaries and news clippings highlighting the group's work throughout West Germany. Many of the materials relate to the group's publications: "links (left)" and "express-Zeitung für sozialistische Betriebs- und Gewerkschaftsarbeit (express - Newspaper for Socialist Business and Union Work", both of which were published through Verlag 2000 GmbH, the group's publishing company. The collection also includes issues 1 through 90 of the group's newsletter.

Die Sammlung besteht größtenteils aus Mitgliederrundbriefe, Sitzungsprotokollen, Broschüren und Pressemitteilungen aus dem Sozialistisches Büro. Ebenfalls enthalten sind Zusammenfassungen zum Jahresende und Zeitungsausschnitte, die die Arbeit des Gruppe in ganz Bundesrepublik Deutschland hervorheben. Viele der Materialien beziehen sich auf die Publikationen der Gruppe: „links (links)" und „express - Zeitung für sozialistische Betriebs- und Gewerkschaftsarbeit", die beide im SB's Verlag 2000 GmbH erschienen sind. Die Sammlung umfasst auch die Ausgaben 1 bis 90 Rundbriefs der Gruppe.

Biographical / historical:

The Sozialistisches Büro (Socialist Office) was an organization of the New Left with the goal of unification of socialist groups and interests in West Germany. It was founded in 1969 and active until the 1990s. The group was based in Offenbach, West Germany, and operated a publishing house.

Das Sozialistische Büro war eine Organisation der Neuen Linken mit dem Ziel der Vereinigung sozialistischer Gruppen und Interessen in der BRD.Sie wurde 1969 gegründet und war bis in die 1990er Jahre aktiv. Die Gruppe hatte ihren Sitz in Offenbach und betrieb Verlag 2000 GmbH.
