Description
The collection consists of correspondence, memoranda, membership lists, agendas, minutes, photographs, clippings, project information, manuals of operation, and orientation packets for the national chapter.
Background
Founded in 1918, Mortar Board is a national collegiate membership group dedicated to scholarship, leadership and service. The purpose of each of its 191 campus chapters is to facilitate cooperation among senior honor societies, emphasize the advancement of the status of women, and recognize and encourage leadership. Members must be juniors with a B grade point average and in the upper 35% of their class. Members must have demonstrated leadership abilities and must have established a record of service to their university and / or community. Chapters grant scholarships. The MB Forum is published quarterly by the national organization.
