Scope and Content
The storms of December 1996 and January 1997 produced a large amount of runoff that caused extensive damage to levees under
the jurisdiction of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps), Sacramento District. Under Public Law 84-99 (PL 84-99), the Corps proposed the Levee Rehabilitation Project, which would restore damaged levees
to pre-flood conditions, and to increase the level of flood protection for each levee.
This collection consists of Environmental Assessments (EA) and Findings of No Significant Impact (FONSI) for the proposed
project sites. The collection is arranged alphabetically by county. Where project sites are located more than one county,
they are filed in the series of first named county.
