Additional Note

John Lennart Cedarleaf, 1915-93, graduated from the University of North Dakota, 1942, North Park Theological Seminary, Chicago, 1944, and Chicago Institute of Psychoanalysis, 1954. He married Agnes Swanson, 1943, and was ordained in the Evangelical Mission Covenant Church, 1946. After receiving clinical training and serving as chaplain in various institutions in the Midwest, he came as Chaplain to the Northern Reception Center (juveniles) in Sacramento, CA. He directed the clinical pastoral education program there until his retirement in 1978. During these years, he was active in developing chaplaincy and clinical pastoral education centers in California, first for the Council for Clinical Training and then, after the 1967 merger, for the ACPE. He served on most major ACPE committees, and was president 1978-79. He was Regional Director of the Pacific Region, 1980-88. For a more complete biography, see Box 6, ff 1.
