    Biography

    Howard A. Peairs was born September 25, 1861, in Ohio. He was a lawyer and came to Los Angeles for his health in 1898. In 1913, he was elected to the State Legislature as a Progressive Republican where he introduced several notable bills. Later in 1913, he was appointed by Governor Johnson as a judge in Bakersfield, California. He died in Bakersfield June 5, 1933.
