Biography

Ernestine Sondheimer Elster served as a member of the California State Historical Resources Commission, and as Director of Publications, UCLA Institute of Archaeology.

Scope and Content

Collection consists of Meeting Notebook Files used by California State Resources Commission member Ernestine S. Elster. Includes meeting agendas and submissions for designation of California sites as either registered landmarks, registered sites, or registered buildings. Also contains her correspondence, a separate chronological set of meeting agendas and minutes, brochures and pamphlets describing a state locale, files and publications pertaining to Native Californian Indian culture, and a few photographs.
