Background
J. B. (John Bell) Condliffe was born in Melbourne Australia on
December 23, 1891 to Alfred Bell and Margaret Condliffe. He attended Canterbury
University, and Gonville and Caius Colleges,
Cambridge University . He married Olive G. Mills in 1916 and they had
three children: John Charles, Peter George, and Margaret Mary.
