Description
Betty Rosenberg (1916- ) was a lecturer in library and information science (1973-77), and senior lecturer emeritus (1977- ) at UCLA, and an author. Her publications include The romance of book collecting (1978), Genreflecting: a guide to reading interests in genre fiction (1982) and The letter killeth: three bibliographical essays for bibliomaniacs (1982). The collection contains notes and the manuscript for her revised edition of Genreflecting: a guide to reading interests in genre fiction (1982). The collection also contains book catalogs, photographs, business files and correspondence.
Background
Rosenberg was born on October 17, 1916 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada; came to the U.S. in 1917 and became a citizen in 1923; BA (1938), MA (1950), UCLA; Certificate in Librarianship, UC Berkeley, 1940; worked as a librarian, Los Angeles County Public Library, 1942-45; librarian (1945-57), bibliographical assistant to librarian (1957-61), lecturer (1961-73), senior lecturer in library and information science (1973-77), and senior lecturer emeritus, beginning in 1977, UCLA; publications include: The romance of book collecting (1978), Booked for murder (1979), Bibliomania, or Bound to kill (1981), Genreflecting: a guide to reading interests in genre fiction (1982) and The letter killeth: three bibliographical essays for bibliomaniacs (1982).
