    Scope and Content

    These papers, a part of the Leming Collection, gift of Mr. Orrin June in December 1967, contain an inventory for San Luis Rey Mission in 1840, decrees and documents as governor of California, correspondence mainly relating to cattle transactions and to the management of his Santa Margarita Ranch, and deeds and legal papers concerning property in Los Angeles. The papers have been arranged chronologically. A list follows, with, at the end, a partial list of correspondents.
