of letters from Edward Bulwer Lytton to Camille Ernst and includes transcripts of all letters.

Biography
Edward George Earle Bulwer Lytton, 1st Baron Lytton of Knebworth was born on May 25, 1803 in London, England; attended University
of Cambridge; in 1828 published first successful novel,
Pelham; entered Parliament as a Liberal member for Lincoln in 1831; retired in 1841 in protest against the repeal of the Corn Laws;
became a Tory and was returned to the House in 1852 as member for Hertfordshire; continued to publish novels, including
Eugene Aram (1832),
The Last Days of Pompeii (1834),
Harold, the Last of the Saxon Kings (1848),
The Caxtons (1849), and
My Novel (1853); he was created a peer in 1866; died on January 18, 1873 in Torquay, Devonshire.
Scope and Content
Collection consists of letters from Edward Bulwer Lytton to Camille Ernst. Also contains four letters from Robert Lytton and
a letter from a grandson regarding Bulwer Lytton. Includes transcripts of all letters.
