Personal papers 1924-1945

Scope and Contents

Contains correspondence regarding Howard's military career, including a letter from the French Army authorizing him to wear the French Victory Medal. Also includes applications for employment with the U. S. Navy and the Civil Service Commission, and a postcard from New York City.

Consists of check stubs, a project list, blank letterhead and a clipping.
 

Project Records 1932-1949

Scope and Contents

Primarily consists of correspondence, notes, specifications, drawings, and clippings related to the Ping Yuen Housing Project in San Francisco's Chinatown, which Howard designed in partnership with Mark Daniels. Other projects represented include the Stag's Leap Guest House, the San Francisco Federal Office Building (Arthur Brown, Jr., architect), the Milwaukee County Courthouse, and unidentified residences.
