Description
Collection consists of 56 sound recordings on magnetic tape, each 8 inches in diameter. They are in open reel tape format.
The tapes are stored in 2 boxes marked Box 15 and Box 16. The boxes contain the lectures of Library Service 200A, 200B and
200C, which began in Fall Quarter 1967, continuing through Spring Quarter 1968; one full academic year.

Seymour Lubetzky was born April 28, 1898 in Zelwa, Poland; came to USA, 1927; Married Beatrice Charnas; naturalized in California,
1933; BA, UCLA, 1931; MA, UC Berkeley, 1934; General Secondary Teachers Credential, 1932; Certificate of Librarianship, 1934;
Mr. Lubetzky worked at the Sequoia National Park Library, 1936-1942 accessions assistant; cataloger; reviser; chief classirfier,
UCLA; 1936-42; Chief, Catalog Maintenance Division, Library of Congress, 1943-60; Professor, UCLA School of Library Service,
1960-69; received Honorary Doctor of Laws presented by the UC Regents, 1969; since 1969, he has written various articles related
to Anglo-American cataloging rules and has been an occasional guest lecturer.
