    Abstract: Levine was born on May 15, 1930 in Medford, Massachusetts. He received his AB from Boston University in 1952 and his Ph.D from Columbia University in 1959. He was a research associate at the Columbia University Bureau of Applied Social Research from 1954-64, research sociologist at the United Nations Research Institute for Social Development from 1964-65 and became assistant professor of sociology at UCLA in 1965. His books include, Workers Vote: the Political Behavior of Men in the Printing Trade (1963) and The Japanese American Community: a Three-generation Study (1981). The collection consists of original completed survey forms of the UCLA Japanese American Research Project (JARP).

    Biography

    Gene Norman Levine was born on May 15, 1930 in Medford, Massachusetts; AB, Boston University, 1952; Ph.D, Columbia University, 1959; research associate, Columbia University Bureau of Applied Social Research, 1954-64; research sociologist, United Nations Research Institute for Social Development, 1964-65; became assistant professor of sociology at the University of California, Los Angeles in 1965; his books include, Workers Vote: the Political Behavior of Men in the Printing Trade (1963) and The Japanese American Community: a Three-Generation Study (1981).
