This series primarily contains black and white photographs. Other photographic material has been noted on the container list and includes tintypes and a color slide. This series is organized in two subseries.

Series Scope and Content Summary

This series consists of both handwritten original letters and photocopies of originals. Some files also contain typescript transcriptions of original correspondence, accompanied by notes of Edna Phelps that describe relations of people and places mentioned in the correspondence. Most of the correspondence in this series was not received by Edna Phelps, but by other family members. The series is arranged alphabetically by surname of the author, with the exception of postcards, which are filed together.
