    Biography

    William H. H. Garritt, born in 1839, served in the California volunteers during the Civil War. His sister, Sidney Garritt McCleery was the wife of James McCleery, a wagon maker in Sacramento. William and Sidney were the children of Captain George Garritt of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and St. Louis, Missouri.
