Abstract: Havelock Ellis (1859-1939) was a physician, anthropologist, novelist, and author of numerous theoretical works on human sexuality.
His writings dealt with psychological, anthropological, and biological aspects of sexuality. The collection consists of the
original typescript of
Sex and Marriage with proofs and books by other authors with Ellis marginalia, or sections written by Ellis.

The original typescript of Sex and Marriage.
Scope and Content Note
The early chapters revised in Ellis' handwriting, later chapters corrected by F. Delisle (Roussel) and John Gawsworth (Terence
Ian Fytton Armstrong). Together with page proofs of the books with many corrections. Four chapters which were suppressed are
present in typescript and page proof, as well as the five chapters supplanting them.
