Description
The Indian War Papers, 1850-80 (F3753), oniginated in the Adjutant General's Office. Encompassing 2-1/2 cubic feet, the records
deal with attempts to suppress the Indians in California. Local militia groups were usually formed to eliminate the Indian
Menace and pacify the frontier in specific areas of the state. This record group includes militia muster rolls, field reports,
claims, correspondence and two volumes of Expenditures for Military Expeditions Against Indians During the Years 1851-59.
