Scope and Content

Chiefly Oakland views, with several views of Berkeley. Scenes are those that would promote the region and focus on economic growth, prosperity, and amenities. Prominent are views of downtown streets and commercial buildings, schools and public buildings, the Oakland harbor and waterfront, newly developed residential neighborhoods, and industrial sites such as the Union Iron Works and shipyards, the Chevrolet Park factory and vicinity, the California Cottom Mills, and the Peet Brothers soap factory. Automobiles and streetcars are frequently included.
