Background
Rolf H. Sabersky was born in Berlin, emigrated to the U.S. and began his undergraduate studies at Caltech in 1939, receiving his bachelor's degree in 1942 and a master's degree in 1943. After World War II, he returned to Caltech for graduate study, completing his PhD in mechanical engineering in 1949. He continued at Caltech in a faculty position until his retirement in 1988; his specialization was in fluid mechanics and heat transfer. The small collection consists mainly of notes for AE266, Theoretical Aerodynamics of Real and Perfect Fluids, taught in 1946-47 by Clark Millikan and Homer Joe Stewart. Also included are sample tests relating to undergraduate standing matters. These papers were donated to the Archives by Dr. Sabersky in July, 1998.
