ABSTRACT
Bound manuscript, commonplace book, containing poetry and prose, apparently written by
John Hammond for his grandson, John Hammond. Much of the text relates to religious
subjects. On verso of front cover: bookplate of Don Cameron Allen. Also includes a slip
of paper naming the author as "W. Hammond" and dating the volume as "early 17th century."
