    Biography

    Rotary International is a world-wide businessperson's service organization. Founded in 1905, it presently has chapters in eighty-nine countries. Rotary International provides college scholarships for study abroad. It also sponsors vocational training and subsidizes libraries. Rotary International's periodical, "The Rotarian" has a circulation of some half-million. The Stockton Chapter was founded in 1913. One local member, University of Pacific President, Stanley McCaffrey, was President of Rotary International (1981-1982).

    Scope and Content

    The Stockton Rotary Papers consist of local chapter minutes, correspondence, roll books, financial records, scrapbooks, publications and memorabilia (1913-), as well as national publications and proceedings of international meetings (1932-1966). Additions to the collection are anticipated.
