    Scope and Contents Note

    This collection includes term papers, theses, interviews, letters, and reminiscences written and collected for various courses at Stanford University pertaining to the Pacific States. Original papers of particular interest deal with the Bear Flag Revolt and California mining. The collection also includes a letter by Jessie B. Fremont; and Moses Shallenberger letters, along with a transcript of an interview giving his account of the journey to California in 1844.
