Abstract: Rex Evans (1903-1969) appeared in several films, including
Camille (1936) and the
Philadelphia story (1940). The collection consists of correspondence, manuscripts of revue sketches, music scores, photographs, portraits, scrapbooks,
and ephemera documenting Evans' career in cabaret, movies, and theater.

Biography
Evans was born in 1903; attended Marlborough School, England; cabaret star during 1920s-30s in London, Paris, New York, and
Los Angeles; moved to Los Angeles in the late 1930s and appeared in several films, including
Camille (1936) and the
Philadelphia story (1940); sold antiques with partner Jim Weatherford and ran custom shirt-shop and Rex Evans Gallery in Los Angeles; died in
1969 in Los Angeles.

Collection consists of correspondence, manuscripts of revue sketches, music scores, photographs, portraits, scrapbooks, and
ephemera documenting Evans' career in cabaret, movies, and theater.
