Description
The California Society of Miniature Painters Collection (1911-1972) consists of exhibition catalogs, art school catalogs,
artwork, photographs, organizational papers, membership biographies and lists, clippings and scrapbooks.
Background
The California Society of Miniature Painters was organized in February 1912. As stated in their constitution, the society
was formed "for the purpose of fostering the painting of miniatures, and to hold annual exhibitions." The Society's meetings
were held in members' homes or in various locations throughout Los Angeles. The Society's exhibitions were mounted in the
Los Angeles area.
