Sara Low letters, MSS 0172. Mandeville Special Collections Library, UCSD.
Detailed letters to Low's mother and in-laws, describing her voyage from New York to San
Francisco around Cape Horn. The final letter describes her visit to California.
Accompanied by a manuscript chart showing route of the voyage, and four envelopes. Low
was 19 years old at the time and quite literate; the letters are very legible and in very
good condition.
