James Roy Welch was the City Attorney of San Jose, California, between 1894 and 1897. He was later the and Superior Court
Judge for Santa Clara County, California, around the turn of the century.

Scope and Contents
Legal papers relating to Judge James Roy Welch's term as City Attorney of San Jose (1894-1897) and later as a Superior Court
Judge in Santa Clara County. Also includes a small amount of personal papers and photographs, largely about mining interests
and automobiles.
