    Biography

    William John Sweasey was born in England in 1804 and arrived in the United States in 1837. He came to California in 1850. In 1854, he served as an Assemblyman in the State Legislature. He pioneered the Eel River Valley in 1855 and was a member of the State Constitutional Convention of 1879. He died in San Francisco on September 30, 1893.
