    Biography

    Richard Ford is a writer of fiction, including the novels The Sportswriter (1986) and Independence Day (1995), the latter of which earned him both the Pulitzer Prize and the PEN/Faulkner Award in 1996. He was born in 1944 and received his M.F.A. from the University of California, Irvine in 1970.
