    Biography/History

    John Davidson is an entertainer who was born on December 13, 1941 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. After graduating from Denison University, he appeared on Broadway and then landed a job as a regular on the variety series The Entertainers. He quickly became a familiar figure on American television screens, hosting different iterations of The Kraft Music Hall as well as his own eponymous variety show from 1969-1970. In the 1970s he was a frequent panelist on The Hollywood Squares and one of the recurrent guest hosts of The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. He also had numerous acting roles and in 1973-1974 he co-starred with Sally Field in the sitcom The Girl with Something Extra. In the 1980s he hosted a daytime talk show (again called The John Davidson Show) while also serving as a cohost of the primetime series That's Incredible! Throughout the years he has recorded several record albums and made numerous television appearances while also performing in live theater.

    Contains John Davidson's personal collection of musical arrangements intended for a variety of uses, including night club performances, television appearances (on The Entertainers, The Kraft Music Hall, The John Davidson Show, and others) and recordings.

    Organization and Arrangement

    The material is arranged alphabetically by title, with flat files contained in boxes 1-36 and oversize flat files in boxes 37-60. If the intended venue known, it is indicated in brackets after the title.
