Proposed for site in northern part of San Fernando Valley, LA, where climate brings both higher and lower temperatures than urban areas of city. Earth berms formed at lot boundaries would help insulate in both extremes. House intended to be free of mechanical air conditioning, allowing cross ventilation at all times (pp 18-19).
