    Scope and Content of Collection

    The collection contains biographical material about Benjamin Nistal-Moret (1944-1993) and material collected and created for his Esclavos Profugos y Cimarrones, Puerto Rico, 1770-1870, including a number of 19th century documents, in Spanish, from Puerto Rico, primarily relating to identification and registration of slaves and the apprehension of fugitives.
    Copies of Esclavos Profugos y Cimarrones have been cataloged separately and can be searched on Pegasus, the UCSB Libraries online catalog.
