Biographical/Historical Sketch
The “ham radio” station W6YX at Stanford dates back to 1924 and is still active; electronics professor Oswald G. Villard Jr.
served as faculty advisor and trustee for many years.
Scrapbook contains clippings, articles, correspondence, membership list, certificates (one issued to Osward G. Villard), photographs,
and 1 FCC complaint; some of the correspondence is with the American Radio Relay League regarding records of calls made by
the club. Photographs are of the raising of an antenna, 1950, a visit from the UC-Berkeley club, 1951, and a group image of
operators for many other stations, 1951.
