These letters, written to his wife Gertrude Schwartz in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, between July 23 and September 8, 1943, talk about preparing for exams, other men in the ASTP program, contrast of life at Stanford to life at Army camp, visits to a veterans hospitality house in Palo Alto, trip to San Francisco, and his daily life.
